Abstract: El actual Sistema Educativo de nuestro país viene enfatizando en los diferentes niveles educativos de la Educación Básica Regular, el logro de una formación integral de los estudiantes y que ponga de relevancia el desarrollo de una autoestima alta, ya que la mayoría de los alumnos de los diferentes Instituciones Educativas tienen una autoestima baja y lo manifiestan en su vida diaria. La autoestima es el resultado de un proceso de análisis, valoración e integración de la información derivada de la propia experiencia y de la apreciación de los compañeros, profesores, padres. Los factores que determinan el accionar de una persona ante cualquier situación problemática que se le presente es la autoestima. Es ésta quien conduce al individuo por los sentimientos de éxito o de fracaso, de acuerdo al nivel de autoestima que posea. Es decir, la autoestima regula y anticipa la conducta de la persona. La autoestima como regulador de conductas, en este caso en los estudiantes de nivel inicial, si tiene consecuencias desfavorables en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje, específicamente, en el rendimiento académico; por cuanto es a través de ésta que se manifiesta el nivel de logro de las capacidades y actitudes en un área determinada. La autoestima, para muchos autores, es condicionante del rendimiento académico, es un fenómeno multifactorial, no adquiere su significancia con sólo observar si las personas se aceptan a sí mismo o no, sino más bien cuando se relaciona y adquiere carácter causal frente a ciertas situaciones.
The current education system in our country has been emphasizing the different educational levels of Basic Education achieving a comprehensive education of students and to make relevant developing high self-esteem, since most of the students in the different Educational institutions have a low self esteem and manifest in their daily lives. Self-esteem is the result of a process of analysis, evaluation and integration of the information derived from the experience and appreciation of peers, teachers, parents. The factors that determine the actions of a person in any situation that comes your problem is self-esteem. Is this who leads the individual's feelings of success or failure, according to the level of selfesteem you have. That is, self-esteem and anticipates regulates the conductof the person. Self-esteem as a regulator of behavior, in this case-leve! students, does have adverse consequences on the teaching-learning process, specifically in academic performance because it is through that manifests the leve! of achievement of skills and attitudes in a given area. Self-esteem, for many authors, is determinant of academic achievement, is a multifactorial phenomenon, not only acquires its significance to see whether people accept himself or not, but rather when and became non causal links in certain situations.
