El mercado de divisas y el tipo de cambio

Abstract

El presente trabajo “EL MERCADO DE DIVISAS Y EL TIPO DE CAMBIO”, analiza, bajo el enfoque flujo del mercado libre de divisas, la forma como los factores internos e internacionales afectan al tipo de cambio. Se explica cómo los acuerdos comerciales, la disminución esperada del tipo de cambio, la reducción del riesgo país y la mayor transferencia de dólares de los peruanos en el exterior a sus familiares del país tiende a reduc1r el valor del dólar en el Perú.

También analiza y considera la influencia tanto de la política económica doméstica como los efectos de la economía mundial: el nivel de producción del resto del mundo, de la tasa de interés internacional, las expectativas cambiarias y el riesgo, en el país se ha convertido en uno de los principales factores para explicar la evolución de las economías de los países emergentes. Un sistema de tipo de cambio, o también denominado régimen cambiario, establece la forma en que se determina el tipo de cambio, es decir, el valor de la moneda nacional frente a otras.

La elección de régimen cambiario es un elemento central dentro de las decisiones de política económica que adopta el gobierno de un país. El sistema cambiario tiene importantes repercusiones sobre la flexibilidad del tipo de cambio y efectos sobre otros instrumentos de la política económica.

El tipo de cambio en el Perú, es el número de unidades de moneda nacional (soles) por unidad de moneda extranjera (dólar). En el caso peruano, se refiere al precio del dólar. En el Perú existe el régimen flexible con flotación administrada o sucia, lo que significa que el tipo de cambio se determina en el mercado, esto es, por la interacción de la oferta y demanda de dólares pero con intervención del Banco Central de Reserva (BCR) para evitar fluctuaciones bruscas.

The analyzes of this research was to "THE CURRENCY MARKET AND THE EXCHANGE RATE", under the flow focus of the free foreign exchange market, the way in which the internal and international factors affect the exchange rate. It explains how trade agreements, the expected decrease in the exchange rate, the reduction of country risk and the greater transfer of dollars of Peruvians abroad to their relatives in the country tend to reduce the value of the dollar in Peru. It also analyzes and considers the influence of both domestic economic policy and the effects of the world economy: the level of production of the rest of the world, the international interest rate, exchange expectations and risk, in the country has become one of the main factors to explain the evolution of the economies of emerging countries. A system of exchange rate, or also called exchange rate regime, establishes the way in which the exchange rate is determined, that is, the value of the national currency against others. The choice of exchange rate regime is a central element in the decisions of economic policy adopted by the government of a country. The exchange system has important repercussions on the flexibility of the exchange rate and effects on other economic policy instruments. The exchange rate in Peru is the number of units of national currency (soles) per unit of foreign currency (dollar). In the Peruvian case, it refers to the price of the dollar. In Peru there is a flexible system with managed or dirty float, which means that the exchange rate is determined in the market, that is, by the interaction of supply and demand for dollars but with the intervention of the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) to avoid sudden fluctuations.
