Sistema de información y su influencia en el proceso de toma de decisiones en la Estación Experimental Agraria El Porvenir – INIA, Juan Guerra

Abstract

La presente tesis titulada: Sistema de información y su influencia en el proceso de toma de decisiones en la Estación Experimental Agraria El Porvenir – INIA, Juan Guerra, tiene como Objetivo General, mejorar el proceso de toma de decisiones en la Estación Experimental Agraria (EEA) “El Porvenir”. Asimismo, tiene como objetivos específicos: Determinar los procesos para la toma de decisiones en la EEA “El Porvenir”, analizar el sistema de información para la toma de decisiones en la EEA “El Porvenir” y medir el grado de influencia del sistema de información en el proceso de toma de decisiones en la EEA “El Porvenir”. Para el desarrollo de esta investigación fue necesario el uso de diferentes técnicas; se utilizó la entrevista hacia los grupos responsables con el fin de conocer el proceso de toma de decisiones; la revisión y evaluación de documentos para saber cómo organizan y almacenan la información recolectada a lo largo de sus procesos, así como la observación directa que permitió establecer el recorrido de la información y la duración de este. Gracias a las técnicas utilizadas se logró diseñar e implantar una solución que permitió satisfacer las necesidades de información en la EEA “El Porvenir”, por otro lado, la automatización del Sistema de Información (SI) se logró gracias al desarrollo de un aplicativo web. Como resultado de la implementación del Sistema de Información para el proceso de toma de decisiones en la EEA “El Porvenir” tenemos: a) Se logró disminuir el tiempo empleado en la generación de reportes referentes a las actividades productivas de la institución en un 97,67%, lo cual hizo que los tiempos de espera ya no fueran tan pesados. Asimismo en cuanto al tiempo de análisis de la información para la toma de decisiones con la implantación del sistema se redujo en un 94,86% frente al proceso anterior. Con lo cual, podemos concluir que con el uso del sistema de información se mejoró el proceso de toma de decisiones en la Estación Experimental Agraria “El Porvenir”.

The following thesis titled as: Information system and its influence in the process of decision making in The Agricultural Experimental Station El Porvenir - INIA, Juan Guerra, has as General Objective, to improve the decision making process in the Agricultural Experimental Station (EEA) "El Porvenir". It also has as specific objectives: Determine the processes for decision-making in the EEA "El Porvenir", analyze the information system for decision-making in the EEA "El Porvenir" and measure the degree of influence of the information system in the decision making process in the EEA "El Porvenir". For the development of this research it was necessary to use different techniques; the interview was used towards the responsible groups in order to know the decision-making process; the review and evaluation of documents to know how they organize and store the information collected throughout their processes, as well as the direct observation that allowed to establish the route of the information and the duration of this. Thanks to the techniques used, it was possible to design and implement a solution that allowed satisfying the information needs in the EEA "El Porvenir", on the other hand, the automation of the Information System (SI) was achieved thanks to the development of a web application. As a result of the implementation of the Information System for the decision making process in the EEA "El Porvenir" we have: a) we managed to reduce the time spent in generating reports on the productive activities of the institution in a 97, 67%, which meant that waiting times were not so heavy. Also regarding the time of analysis of information for decision making with the implementation of the system was reduced by 94.86% compared to the previous process. With which, we can conclude that with the use of the information system, the decision-making process in the "El Porvenir" Agricultural Experimental Station was improved.
