The following research was conducted in order to measure the influence of temperature at different depths on sexual differentiation in nests of P. unifilis "Taricaya", planted on artificial beaches, the study area was the I.E. "Ángel Custodio García Ramírez" in the city of Tarapoto. The study consists of four stages; the first is the training of volunteers for the search, collection, transport and handling of "taricaya" eggs. Beach monitoring and patrolling; the second stage is the search and collection of nests within the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve to be transported to the city of Tarapoto where the study of their behavior was carried out, the third stage was the incubation in the artificial beach, where they were monitored until the hatching of eggs; The last stage of the study was the examination of neonates. The most important part is the stage of sexual differentiation, which was contrasted with the data obtained from measurements at different depths, recording that the threshold temperature as a determinant of sexual differentiation in P. unifilis was 28.9 ° C. The nests that were incubated at temperatures higher than this resulted in a higher percentage of females than the males and, conversely, occurred with the nests whose incubation temperature was lower than the threshold temperature. The systematization of data shows us that the global averages of temperatures at different depths during the incubation period with respect to the ambient temperature obtained at the El Porvenir weather station is 2.7 ° C higher, which means that changes or alterations in the environment they could have an impact on the balance of this species.
