The presence of heavy metals in cocoa cultivation (Theobroma cacao L.) is currently a serious problem for farmers and cooperatives in the San Martín region. In the recent work the cadmium contents were analyzed in the fresh grain and soil parts in the areas of Juanjuí and Pucacaca. The results of the variables of: cd, pH and C.E; Samples of three varieties (CCN-51, ICS-95 and Hibrido) were analyzed in the soil and water laboratory of UNSM. The mean values of cadmium in testa and cotyledon were 0,0403 and 0,0496 ppm respectively. The content of cadmium in Juanjuí obtained an average of 0,046 ppm (testa: 0,039 ppm and cotyledon: 0,052 ppm) while in Pucacaca 0,044 ppm (testa: 0,042 ppm and cotyledon: 0,047 ppm). Hybrid obtained the highest cadmium value at 0,054 ppm (testa: 0,048 ppm and cotyledon: 0,060 ppm), followed by ICS-95 at 0,050 ppm (testa: 0,046 ppm and cotyledon: 0,054 ppm) and CCN-51 at 0,031 ppm (Test: 0,027 ppm and cotyledon: 0,035 ppm). The Pearson correlation was performed between the contents of cadmium, pH and C.E of the parts of the fresh grain with physical-chemical variables of the soil; Finding that the cadmium in the soil has much negative correlation with the electrical conductivity in the testa and cotyledon. The pH and cadmium in the soil showed the highest positive correlation of the investigation.
