The objective of this research was to determine the efficacy of gestational age according to the measurement of the fetal femur by ultrasound versus the date of the last menstrual period and Capurro test, Hospital II EsSalud Tarapoto 2020. The research was basic, non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive correlational, the population was 321 and the sample was 175 pregnant women with ultrasound greater than or equal to 37 weeks, the technique was the documentary review of 175 medical records of pregnant women and the instrument was the data collection form. Results: The statistical descriptors of the gestational age estimation methods establish that the ultrasound method presents a minimum and maximum value of 37 and 40.4 weeks with respect to the method by date of last menstrual period (FURN) (36.4 and 40.5) and Capurro's test (36 and 39), respectively. The distribution of the number of pregnant women according to the variation in gestational age by ultrasound and Capurro test, in 25.1% the gestational age was the same by ultrasound and Capurro at birth, 40.0% presented a variability of up to 1 week (-1 and +1) in gestational age between both methods of evaluation. The variation in gestational age by ultrasonography and by FURN, 62.9% of the gestational age by ultrasonography was the same as by the date of the last menstrual period. In 32.0% there was variability of up to 1 week (-1 and +1). The variation in gestational age by FURN and Capurro test, 34.9% of the gestational age by FURN was the same as by the Capurro test at birth. The 41.7% presented a variability of up to 1 week (-1 and +1). In conclusion, the ANOVA variance determined the efficacy of the method of diagnosis of gestational age by FURN with respect to the method by ultrasound, variability of 51.599 and Fisher's value (F = 175.138) were found, indicating the greater accuracy of this method with respect to the ultrasound (p<0.05).
