Valoración económica para potenciar el uso turístico del recurso cataratas del Tamushal en el distrito de Tarapoto

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo: determinar la valoración económica del recurso Cataratas del Tamushal como herramienta efectiva para potenciar su uso turístico en Tarapoto y también proponer estrategias de difusión y promoción turísticas, según la disposición a pagar. Durante mucho tiempo en la Región San Martín se ha visto el incremento de turistas nacionales y extranjeros que visitan diversos atractivos turísticos en la zona que no cuentan con un estudio de valoración económica, como es el caso de este recurso, razón por la cual se plantea el siguiente problema: ¿Será la valoración económica una herramienta efectiva para optimizar el uso turístico de las Cataratas del Tamushal en el distrito de Tarapoto? Para lograr los objetivos y contrastar la hipótesis se utilizó un Método de Valoración Contingente, que facilitó la obtención de datos necesarios, de un cuestionario de Valoración Contingente. Posteriormente se describieron y analizaron las variables e incidencias ocurridas. La muestra estuvo conformada por 243 visitantes-turistas, obtenidos de una población que llegaron a la ciudad de Tarapoto, a quienes se les aplicó una encuesta para recolectar datos, los cuales fueron codificados y procesados en programas de cálculo estadístico Eviews 8, determinando la DAP estimada de S/ 15.79 soles, generando el valor económico de las Cataratas del Tamushal, el cual asciende a S/.117,477.60 soles, que permitió dilucidar la hipótesis: la valoración económica del recurso Cataratas del Tamushal sí muestra potencial turístico en el distrito de Tarapoto.

The presented research followed the general objective of determing the economic valoration of the Tamushal Waterfalls as an effective tool to enhance the tourist industry in Tarapoto - San Martin – 2015 and also proponent the strategies of diffusion and tourist promotion of the Tamushal Falls, according to the availability of a pay. Over the years the San Martin region has seen a notable increase of tourists, both Peruvians and foreigners, visiting the local tourism activities. The majority of the increase has been focused on the natural attractions that are easily found within the region. However, a large number of these natural environments have not been considered for an economic study of valuation as is the case of the Waterfalls of Tamushal where the turistic potential had yet to be investigated. For this reason, this research saught to answer the following question: What does the economic valuation of the Waterfalls of Tamushal show in regards to the turistic potential in the district of Tarapoto? In order to achieve the objectives and the hypothesis that were presented, the Contingent Valuation Method of non-experimental design was utilized to collect the necessary data through a Contingent Valoration questionnaire. Later the variables were analyzed and described along with the incidents that occured while collecting the research. The population used for this studied was conformed by the number of visiting tourists who came to The Tamushal Waterfalls in Tarapoto. Visitors were administered the survey techniques to collect the necessary data. They were then coded and processed through the statistical calculations program, Eviews 8. The disposition to pay was S/ 15.79 soles, showing the economic valuation, which is S/. 117,477.60 soles that allowed us to deduct the proposed hypothesis: that the economic valuation of the Tamushal Waterfalls does show its tourism potential in the District of Tarapoto
