The following thesis work, Design of concrete mix for massive use bases its bases in the control of the temperature inside the mixture while it reaches its state of maturity and / or design resistance. For this purpose, the research was carried out in four stages: First stage, to deepen the knowledge about the physical properties of the aggregates, concrete mixing design methods, temperature control and resistance, in the second stage, extraction of the aggregates in necessary quantity from the quarry located in the sector of Tiraquillo, District of Buenos Aires, Province of Picota - San Martín, for its respective analysis in the laboratory of soil and pavement mechanics of the UNSM-T, In the third stage of the investigation, the data generated in the laboratory was used to determine the practical combination of the materials to produce a massive concrete that meets the behavioral requirements under the particular conditions of use, following the established concrete mix design guidelines. by the Method of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) in addition to the parameters to consider a concrete as massive; fourth stage systematic control of the temperature inside the concrete with dimensions 10x10x10 cm, 20x20x20 cm, 30x30x30 cm, 40x40x40 cm and 50x50x50 cm, determining the maximum section that can have a structural element, without inside, due to the exothermic process generate effects contrary to the strength and initial design durability, taking into account the conclusions reached by (Fitz Gibbon 1977 and Dintel and Ghosh 1978) is that the temperature difference between the interior and exterior of the concrete must not exceed 20 ºC. In this order of ideas, with the present research work will leave precedents to frame the basic guidelines necessary for the engineer and / or constructor to know in a simple and practical way the elaboration, manipulation of a massive concrete.
