Efecto de un proyecto educativo sanitario para consumo de agua segura en familias del centro poblado San Francisco del Pajonal, 2019

Abstract

El objetivo general de esta investigación fue determinar el efecto de un proyecto educativo sanitario para consumo de agua segura en familias del centro poblado San Francisco del Pajonal, teniendo como objetivos específicos describir las prácticas y conocimientos sobre agua segura en las familias, diseñar y aplicar el proyecto educativo sanitario y se evaluar el efecto del proyecto educativo sanitario en el consumo de agua segura. Se trabajó con una muestra aleatoria de 20 personas que representaban a un igual número de familias, las mismas que fueron evaluadas al inicio de la investigación mediante el pretest y al finalizar la investigación mediante el postest. Se concluye que antes de aplicar el proyecto educativo sanitario, solo el 30% de los pobladores del centro San Francisco del Pajonal tuvieron respuestas favorables respecto a las prácticas y conocimientos relacionados con el consumo de agua segura en las familias, cifra que se incrementó significativamente hasta el 87% producto de la capacitación recibida en los 8 talleres, evidenciándose principalmente en el consumo el agua hervida o clorada, en la higiene de los depósitos donde almacenen el agua, y en el conocimiento sobre métodos para tratar el agua en el domicilio. Sin embargo, aún existe un 13% de la población que no considera importante o necesario el tratamiento del agua en sus hogares dado que encargan esta tarea a las autoridades locales, no tomando en cuenta el peligro que representa para la salud el consumo de agua no apta.

The general objective of this research was to determine the effect of a sanitary education project for safe water consumption in families of the San Francisco del Pajonal village, having as specific objectives to describe the practices and knowledge about safe water in families, to design and implement the sanitary education project and to evaluate the effect of the sanitary education project on safe water consumption. A random sample of 20 people representing an equal number of families was used, who were evaluated at the beginning of the research through the pretest and at the end of the research through the posttest. It is concluded that before applying the sanitary education project, only 30% of the inhabitants of the San Francisco del Pajonal settlement had favorable responses regarding practices and knowledge related to the consumption of safe water in their families, a figure that increased significantly to 87% as a result of the training received in the 8 workshops, mainly about the consumption of boiled or chlorinated water, the hygiene of the tanks where water is stored, and the knowledge about the methods for treating water at home. However, there is still 13% of the population that does not consider the treatment of water in their homes as important or necessary because they leave this task to the local authorities, regardless of the danger that untreated water represents for their health.
