This research was carried out in response to the present problems related to the health and sanitary conditions of the water in rural populations, and the lack of care for its quality. It aims to determine the relationship between the quality of water available for human consumption and the incidence of ADEs in the villages of Miguel Grau and Túmbaro in the district of Pardo Miguel during 2019; to verify the influence of the quality of drinking water and the occurrence of acute diarrheal diseases. It was determined that in the Miguel Grau hamlet, 50% of the cases reported with acute diarrheal diseases correspond to children from 0 to 11 years old. In the Túmbaro hamlet, the population with the highest risk corresponds to children and infants from 0 to 11 years old, with 81% of cases with acute diarrheal diseases and they are followed by adults between 30 and 59 years of age, corresponding to the remaining 12% of the affected population. Finally, there are other cases in the other age groups but they correspond to only 2% and 3% of the cases reported. The conclusion is that the water in both villages is not suitable for human consumption, as it does not comply with the MPLs and EQSs.
