Abstract

Nivel de conocimiento de la madre sobre lactancia materna exclusiva y su relación con la glicemia neonatal en el Hospital Rural Bellavista. 2021.

La Lactancia Materna (LME) consiste en que el Recién Nacido solo reciba leche materna durante los primeros seis meses de vida; el nivel de conocimiento de la madre puede influir en la decisión de practicarla adecuadamente y en otros aspectos subsecuentes como es el nivel de glicemia neonatal. Con el objetivo de determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento que tienen las madres sobre la Lactancia Materna Exclusiva (LME) y el nivel de hipoglicemia neonatal al momento de nacer, a las dos horas y a las seis horas de vida, se realizó un estudio descriptivo correlacional con recolección prospectiva de datos en una muestra de 64 madres y sus recién nacidos atendidos en el Hospital Rural Bellavista entre los meses de marzo a diciembre 2021. Para determinar el nivel de conocimiento se aplicó una encuesta Tipo Lickert, considerando los valores: alto, medio y bajo; con el examen de hemoglucotest del Neonato, al nacer, 2 y 6 horas de vida, se determinó el nivel de glicemia en sangre neonatal. Resultados: El nivel de conocimiento fue bueno en un 72% y regular en un 28%; el nivel de hipoglicemia neonatal al nacer fue 12.6% y a las 2 y 6 horas del nacimiento fue 7.8%; los factores asociados a la glicemia neonatal normal fueron: Succión inmediatamente al nacer, succión vigorosa y edad gestacional a término del recién nacido. Conclusion: No hay relación (P>0.05) entre el Nivel de conocimientos de la madre sobre lactancia materna exclusiva y el nivel de glicemia del neonato.

In order to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge that mothers have about Exclusive Breastfeeding (EBF) and the level of neonatal hypoglycemia at birth, at two hours and at six hours of life, a study was carried out. correlational descriptive study with prospective data collection in a sample of 64 mothers and their newborns treated at the Bellavista Rural Hospital between the months of March and December 2021. To determine the level of knowledge, a Lickert type survey was applied, considering the values: high, medium and low; With the hemoglucotest examination of the newborn, at birth, 2 and 6 hours of life, the level of glycemia in neonatal blood was determined. Results: The level of knowledge was good in 72% and regular in 28%; the neonatal hypoglycemia level at birth was 12.6% and at 2 and 6 hours after birth it was 7.8%; The factors associated with normal neonatal glycemia were: Sucking immediately at birth, vigorous sucking, and term gestational age of the newborn. Conclusion: There is no relationship (P>0.05) between the level of knowledge of the mother about exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) and the glycemia level of the newborn.
